On Friday, November 11th, Okoboji Schools had the honor of serving over 90 veterans for a free Veterans Day lunch at school. Students and staff were given the option to invite a veteran as a school lunch guest. Our nutrition staff made a great turkey dinner which was enjoyed by all
In addition, students in Mrs. Krueger’s 5th-8th grade art classes created Veterans Day projects to share with local veterans living in our area. Projects were shared out with residents at Accura (Milford and Spirit Lake), Keelson Harbour, Wel-Life, and Aspire in Lake Park. Also, a few projects will be on display at the VFW, the American Legion, Javi’s and West O.
We are so thankful to our area veterans and cherished the opportunity to engage with all our veterans in these events. We are thankful for their service and willingness to help our youth understand the importance of all who have sacrificed in service to our country.
